Alice Retires
After 53 years Alice Wills has decided to retire from her position as Chairman of the Official Richmond Cheer Squad.
Alice started the Cheer Squad in 1959 and was appointed the first Chairman of the Squad, a position she has held since then.
Over the years Alice has seen many years of success with the team as well as the recent bad years. Many Cheer Squad members have come and gone over the years, many with fond memories of Alice.
We wish Alice well for the future and thank her for all the years of work, effort and sacrifice she has made to make the Cheer Squad what it is today.
It is with a great honor to have been appointed to fill Alice’s role as Chairman and I hope that I can fill the role with the same success.
Cheer Squad Annual General Meeting
The Cheer Squad AGM was held on February 11, 2012 and was attended by the largest number of Cheer Squad members that I can remember attending an AGM. It is good to see a high level of interest shown in what is happening around the Squad.
The amendment to the Cheer Squads constitution as below was passed and the Constitution will be changed accordingly
Clause 3: Membership to the O.R.C.S. is defined as follows:
Junior Member - 12 years and under at the time of joining.
Senior Member - 13 years and over at the time of joining.
Associate Member - persons who are 25 years and over when joining for the first time, persons who are members of other Cheer Squads and persons who have turned 25 years of age since their original membership of the O.R.C.S. has lapsed. An Associate member will become a full Senior Member of the Cheer Squad after 3 concesutive years as an Associate member.
As we have commenced memberships for this season the changes will take effect from the 2013 season.
